Got Trail?

Jeep TJ Recommended vendors

A year has passed since I performed a 15 to 19 gallon tank conversion on our TJ. With no problems arising and it even roll tested I have decided it to be reliable enough to create a write-up of the modification. I am still currently working on the write-up of the 4XDOCTOR rocker skids, which should be up soon. For now, I have the pics from that installation up so you can check those things out. The CB and clinometer installation write-ups will be up when I get to them; you can take a look at the pics for those also. If you have any questions, you can e-mail me and I will be more than willing to help.

15 to 19 Gallon tank Conversion

If you have an "older" se Wrangler most likely you have only the 15 gallon tank. Or so you think. Click on the picture to find out how to get an extra four gallons of fuel capacity for your TJ.

Four X Doctor rocker skid install

There are two different types of rocker protection. The step type that bolt onto your frame and the sheet metal type that cover your rockers and protect them fully. There are pros and cons to each kind. I had my mind set on the "step" type that bolt on your frame when James at Jeepers and Creepers showed me these new Four X Doctor skids. They're the best of both worlds. Full rocker protection, and an extra-protective bar that can be used as a step or a jacking point for a high-lift.

Kilby Enterprises gas tank skid install

If you take your Jeep off road, you will learn soon enough that the stock skid plate is not adequate protection for your tank. Click here for my fully illustrated Kilby Enterprises skid plate installation guide.

Clinometer installation

Nowhere near a necessity, a clinometer is just a fun little toy for your Jeep which shows how much you are pitching and rolling in terms of degrees. Most people mount them on thier dash. I decided to mount mine elsewhere, which turned out so good I've even had people ask me if it was factory!

Cobra CB install with co-phased antennae

Definitely a must-have for any Jeep is a CB. How else will you be able to communicate with others while out on the trail? I don't have a write-up yet, but you can click here for pics of where and how I mounted my cb along with my "homemade" antenna mounts.
